About Science and Technology

Thank you for your interest in the group. I look forward to meeting the new members and seeing the current members again. :)

Everyone is welcome to attend the events. This group gives us all a chance to attend events with people who share the same interests. At one time or another, many of us have hesitated to attend events when we didn't know anyone else who was going. I'm really glad that I went anyway and was able to meet many nice people. I hope that you feel welcome to meet the other people and enjoy these social events in a friendly and comfortable way.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is how the group is managed.

*You can participate as much as you want to.
*See CALENDAR for posted events.
*Feel free to SUGGEST EVENTS, or suggest a different time or day for a posted event.
*E-MAIL me directly, if you have any questions or comments.

In order to reduce the amount of e-mail that is received,
*ANNOUNCEMENTS of new events might not be sent.
*REMINDERS might not be sent.
*Instead of PHOTOS, I would recommend that you experience the event firsthand and make your own memories.

Select an RSVP option for the events.
*Two days before an event, you will not be able to RSVP "YES" or "MAYBE".
These RSVP options may be "CLOSED" (deactivated).
But you will be able to RSVP "NO" at any time.
If your plans change, please change your RSVP selection, before the event.
I can't guarantee that I'll be able to answer all questions right before the event.

*If only a few people sign up for an event, then the EVENT might be CANCELED. The organizer will try to notify people before the event.

*NO SHOWS: It is understood that everyone who selects an RSVP of "YES" or "MAYBE", including the organizer, makes an effort to attend the event. However, sometimes circumstances change, and people cannot attend and CANNOT NOTIFY THE OTHER PEOPLE BEFORE THE EVENT. Have fun if you go.

*RAIN, SAND STORMS, closed ROADS, etc.: At any time, any event can be canceled automatically (without prior e-mail notification), if I think it is unlikely that people will be able to get there safely.

( *Disclaimer: It should be understood, but I'll state it anyway.
This group has been formed for the purpose of posting social events. Everyone is expected to behave in a safe, fair and polite way. Participate in the group at your own risk. I and the assistant organizer(s) are not to be held responsible or liable for any damages, suffering, anyone's behavior, or anything else associated with your participation with the group. Anyone is free to "remove" himself or herself from the group at any time. Anyone can be "removed" from the group at any time, if the organizer or assistant organizer(s) feel that the person doesn't blend in with the group. The group and events may be canceled or discontinued at any time, without prior notification.)

Here is how the Meetup events are posted on the "Calendar":

1. The future event is Posted as a "Note" (yellow box)- which lists the event title, city, date and time. This will give members the opportunity to "save the date" on their personal calendars. Also it allows me to change the event if my plans change or if people suggest a different time or day.

2. A few days prior to the event, that "Note" is Deleted and instead a "Meetup" (blue box) is posted. At that time, people can RSVP to the event.

3. A couple of days before the event, the RSVP options "Yes" and "Maybe" will be CLOSED.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please feel free to suggest an event and comment on making these events more successful.
I look forward to seeing you at some of the events.

Thank you,
Karen
