"Wow!"

Dave Snead (May 13, 2008)

"They're very informative and you meet very interesting people."

Diana Kroeger (May 13, 2008)

"Very interesting group, with a deligtful diversity of presentations"

Devora (May 10, 2008)

"This group is always interested in the topics being discussed and they always ask thought provoking questions of the speaker. As long as there is continued space exploration and advances in telescopes including satellites carrying telescopes, Science beyond our galaxy will always be of interest to me."

Mary Hiber (May 9, 2008)

"Great for all ages"

Sandra (May 5, 2008)

"to be informed of similar events/lectures."

tony wong (Apr 15, 2008)

"The speaker said the next class would be boring and about telescope mounts. So if you want something more exciting come to the class in June. Also the field trip to Black Star Canyon sounds fun. Steve, the leader for that, had a lot of enthusiasm."

Wendy (Apr 5, 2008)

"It's a great group of people and great events for all levels."

Gina (Apr 4, 2008)

"Quite valuable. I will I had more time to take advantage of it."

Darryl Brock (Apr 8, 2007)

"because there is nothing worth watching on the television."

doris! (Apr 1, 2008)

"Anyone with an interest in science should join this meetup group. Attending these events allows people to learn and ask questions of science experts in a group setting. It is also an opportunity for children to gain a broader perspective of the world in which they live as well as to look at avenues for potential careers in the sciences."

Stephanie Guiles (Apr 1, 2008)

"I enjoy the group very much. The interaction between the speakers and attendees is great."

John Bunnell (Mar 25, 2008)

"Science Cafe offers excellent information on many science subjects and you can select the ones you are interested in."

Marvin (Mar 24, 2008)

"It was rather boaring. The speaker dweled upon details that I didn't find interesting. The visual aids were very sparce. I've seen much better presentations on this subject on the PBS channel on TV. It was a real strain to hear the speaker. I'd like to recommend using a PA system next time."

Patrick (Mar 24, 2008)

"Great informational resource."

Johnny Daelucian (Mar 23, 2008)

"You continue to do a great job, Brian. I appreciate your work."

Jay (Mar 23, 2008)

"Science is one of my most fascinating interests. So much to learn and only one lifetime to do it in."

Robert in OC (Mar 22, 2008)

"Fun stuff"

Eric Basler (Mar 22, 2008)

"There are interesting topics."

Ed (Mar 21, 2008)

"I should have noticed that the Orange County Astronomy page said 8 PM while the SoCal Science Cafe page said 6:30 PM. Then I would have arranged to attend later rather than paying for an unexpected expensive dinner. I'm sorry to have missed the presentation."

Jennifer Vaughn (Mar 19, 2008)

"The Meetup was great and I am looking forward to participating in the next two programs that Dr. Cordell has arranged in this series n March and April."

You'll find The Science Café at the intersection of Science and Life. It's where scientific research and lattes converge. It's where scholars mix and mingle with the like-minded.

Main Program Website

Each month, we will explore doing a variety of different activities: hearing from scientist speakerrs about the latest breaking scientific discoveries; hosting a "trivia night" at a local bar, restaurant, or cafe, or conducting an event in cooperation with a local science museum or other facility, or watching clips of NOVA's new public television series, "NOVA ScienceNow", produced by WGBH-Boston.

NOVA scienceNOW website

Members of the public and non-scientists are also welcome to join us! Please spread the word and invite your friends to join. Also, check out our Blog, at

The Science Café Blog

NOTE: This is NOT an online-only meetup group. When possible, members are expected to RSVP for events, join in discussions and come to events and mingle with others.

If you are a couch potato, this is NOT the group for you.

Your Host,
Brian Hart
