Would you Watch "Science Cafe TV" on YouTube?For those who haven't heard, YouTube is an online site -- www.youtube.com -- where everybody can post streaming video of themselves and broadcast themselves over the Internet! It got me thinking. We have so many members -- over 400 -- from all over the SoCal area now. And you keep writing in, saying that topics are interesting, however, you can't come! So how about "Science Cafe TV," where each Science Cafe event is streamed by online video onto YouTube, and posted for members to view later? And with segments featuring me or other scientists where we take your calls about Astrophysics and other science questions. |

List Local Science Events as "Meetups" with RSVPs and Ratings?There are lots of science events, talks, lectures and such going on around Orange County. To enhance the quality of this group for Science Cafe members, I want to list those as "Meetups" on our calendar so members can sign up for them and can rate the events for other members afterwards. Do you want that? |

Would you attend a June surfing invitational and Science Cafe on Surfing?Just recently, PBS/Nature showed the film, "Condition Black," a film about 40+ foot surf that hit Oahu in 1998. Would you come to a (free) "Science Cafe on Surfing"? We would show clips from the film and have local surfing afficiandos and experts on hand to take your questions. Would be held 3 PM, on a Third Saturday of the month, either in Huntington Beach or Newport Beach. |
