our purpose:

1. to discover and identify the plants and animals living amongst us

2. to learn their habits and survival requirements

3. to implement landscaping and other wildlife accommodations, such as nest boxes, feeders, brush piles, rock piles, tree snags, ponds and other water features.

Those of you that simply enjoy the occasional pleasant stroll through a park or conservation land may wish to consider joining one of the many hiking/walking groups: they also often like to chat about the plants or wildlife they view along the way, as well as a variety of other topics. However, our group is intended for people who have more than a casual interest; rather, subnats is for students of nature, with a passion and curiousity to learn and learn more about animals AND plants. If you like animals, but aren't so interested in plants, don't join. Or maybe you don't want to read or learn any more about ecology than you can in a 3 hour walk once a month. If so, DON"T JOIN.

But, if you yearn for an intimate relationship with the natural world and a profound knowledge of all it's infinite facets, this is the group for you!
